On Monday 18 May 2020, when the report was written, it was day 53 of lockdown… when the Greytown Gazette is released on Wednesday, it will be day 55 of lockdown. In a normal golfing year, we would have given the results of the Tuta Carriers St Cathryn’s club championship today, but as you are all well aware lockdown prevented the championship, now in its twentieth year of club championship golf at St Cathryn’s. The rough on the mound, on the first and tenth fairway has been tamed and should assist a golfer’s time looking for his ball on these holes. Other course updates are that the water hazards on holes three and twelve and the sixth and fifteen holes are now hundred percent in play, as the dams are at their newest and highest water levels in four and a half years.
This local Rule was spotted in a clubhouse on a golf course in Florida in the USA: “Play well… Play Fast… Play poorly… Play Faster!”.
We will add enjoy the nineteenth hole – when reopened.
