The hot weather drew only a few golfers over the weekend, but we had an influx of “Vespa scooter” bikers, that came to stay at St Cathryn’s and travelled up from Ballito. The club known as the “Roadhog Angels” meet regularly at Siggi’s restaurant, Salt Rock and the trip up to St Cathryn’s was planned from there. The Fifteen scooters that travelled up from the coast on Friday took quite a few hours to complete the trip to St Cathryn’s clubhouse and accommodation, due to the many stops along the way.
On Saturday morning they took off again to Tranquility in Greytown and did some site seeing of the area. Of the fifteen starters on Friday, three broke down during the weekend and did not take the final leg back down to Ballito on Sunday.
The oldest scooter in the field was a 1965 Vespa Scooter and it was in perfect running condition. New friends were made during the weekend and Kranskop as a possible biking destination was re-discovered.
This coming weekend, 3rd of November 2018, members are reminded to support Greytown golf club with their main fundraiser,” The Greytown Classic”, and there is still place available in the field to play. Please contact Piet should you wish to play.
This Friday 2nd of November 2018 we will be closed for a Private Function. To book for golf please phone Piet 0832691661.
