The Farmers Agri-care Monthly Mug – played on Saturday 24 July 2021, was played after a one week postponement after the last weeks mayhem in certain parts of our beautiful Country and all members send their prayers and thoughts to all who were affected.

On the golf course there were fast and very slick, but true greens and the temperatures that were experienced over the weekend, made the members long for the Old Fishermans Friend…  A later than normal tee-off time, normally at 9:00, the tee-off was pushed forward to 10:00 because of the frost, that in turn delayed the mowing of the greens. The pin positions were also changed to a more friendly placing on the greens.

There was a golden oldie two ball support from Greytown, Mike Barrow and Egon Kassier, and Mike stopped to smell the Aloes, commenting on the use of natural grasses on the course as features. This time around he left the birdwatching  binoculars at home. The match referee had to issue a slow play warning… but their presence on the course was more appreciated.
