The Farmers Agri-care monthly mug played on Saturday 10 August 2024, had the leader, movers and the chasers in the field for the Grand Prix. Dieter Meyer is leading by a handsome margin, but Captain Fanie van Wyk , Fritz Volker and others are on the chase.

The greens held the ball well, even with some backspin, due to irrigation and sand applied during the week, but were slick and held their line. The brown and dry fairway conditions gives those extra meters off the tee.

The cold water makes it a very difficult decision to try and birdie the 8th or 17th and golfers were happy to go for par. The tradition of a birdie on these two holes, a swim in the dam has to be taken.

Two visitors in the field were past captain Brent Barkhuizen and Martin Moralee. Brent has come down from JHB for business and made a welcome visit to his old club.
